Setting up SchoolTime for Columbia Grading System
1. Create Terminals or Semesters: A semester system divides the academic year into two or more terms of equal length.

2. Subjects: Subjects are course contents like English, Mathematics, and History on which a student is examined. You can add credits for each subject or just ignore it. You can even create Subject Categories (Academic/Non Academic) to apply different grading systems, or just go ahead with Default.

3. Grading
You can create multiple Grading Systems and apply them to Examinations whenever required or wherever applicable. Following illustration shows 2 types of Grading System created – Columbia 1 and Columbia 2

4. Exam Setting
You can create Examinations for a particular Term/Semester or even an Academic Year. Multiple Classes can be mapped at one go to a particular exam, and weightage assigned to each examination that can be used to arrive at the final assessment.

5. Exam Calendar
Using this module you can create dates for the examinations made earlier. While creating the exams, you will assign the subjects that will be tested for this exam. You can also assign Date and Time for each subject exam along with the Teacher responsible to conduct this Subject Exam.

6. Formulator
You can create a Formula for either of these: Terminal/Exam/Final
When you select Term, you will find options to choose the
Exam for which you want to create an assessment Formula. Once you have chosen
the exam, you can then chose all the subjects and use the “+” function of the
calculator to arrive at a summation formula. Name the formula and save it. Remember weightage has already been assigned
by you for the Exam. So when you create a final assessment formula, all you
need is to choose the exams and “+” calculator function to arrive at the final
assessment.

7. Manage Marks
You can enter marks for each student, for a particular exam, one subject at a time.
8. Process Result
The Class Teacher can process results for a particular Exam one class at a time.
